Football Accumulator Tips

Fleetwood v Carlisle – Fleetwood Win

Fleetwood got off to a wonderful start with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham. Uwe Rosler's side looked well-drilled and sharp in their season opener and there's no reason why they can't kick on in this season opener! Connor McAleny scored both goals for the Cod Army but there's an abundance of talent in that side and they can share the goals around. Jordy Hiwula was unlucky to hit the woodwork and will be looking to make amends for that miss. Carlisle lost at home to Swindon as Keith Curle's side look to shake off a play-off hangover. They look weaker this time around and a lack of firepower could be their undoing. They will cause Fleetwood problems but are likely to come unstuck at Highbury.

Wycombe v Fulham – Fulham Win

Our second accumulator tip is Fulham to get the job done at Adams Park. Wycombe are always decent in the FA Cup but they have struggled in this competition over the past couple of season having not scored a goal in this cup since 2013 and lost 1-0 in an exact repeat of this fixture at this stage of the season two years ago. The Cottagers look significantly stronger than then and should cause plenty of problems for Gareth Ainsworth's side. Since Wycombe drew 1-1 with Chelsea in this cup in 2007, they've won just one match in this competition and that came on penalties.

Wolves v Yeovil – Wolves Win

The first of a couple of short-priced selections in the accumulator. Wolves are an obvious pick here considering there are two divisions between these sides and the away side conceded 8 at Luton at the weekend. Even with inevitable chances to Nuno Santo's side they should be too strong for the Glovers who look set for a season of staving off relegation into the National League. Wolves got off the mark with a 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough and could be a force to be reckoned with this season.

Birmingham v Crawley – Birmingham Win

Staying in the Midlands, we're tipping Harry Redknapp's Birmingham to bounce back from a disappointing result at Ipswich. As 'Arry pointed out afterwards it's never easy to go to Portman Road and come away with anything and they can get off the mark here against the League Two strugglers. Harry Kewell's side didn't fare well at home to Port Vale on Saturday going down 3-1. There were flashes of hope and they performed well in the second half but they are likely to struggle at St Andrews.

Wigan v Blackpool – Wigan Win

Wigan started the season with a 1-0 victory at MK Dons in a messy encounter which saw both sides reduced to 10 men. They held on for the victory and Paul Cook's side look a good prospect to be challenging at the top of the table. Blackpool suffered a 2-1 defeat at Bradford and after losing Brad Potts and Tom Aldred have a number of new players settling in to their side. They showed flashes of brilliance but the Latics will be strong at the DW and should progress to the next round of the competition.

Bristol Rovers v Cambridge – Bristol Rovers Win

The Gas are a very different proposition home/away. They lost on the road on the opening day of the season at the Valley with a narrow 1-0 loss but they are completely different on home soil and they've been dealt a nice draw in the first round. Cambridge lost 1-0 to Exeter on the opening weekend and the fans aren't convinced by Shaun Derry who is looking for some consistency from his side. Many better sides than the U's have visited the Memorial Ground and left empty-handed. Darrell Clark's side will be ready for this.

Oxford v Cheltenham – Oxford Win

Our final accumulator tip takes us from Cambridge to Oxford with Pep Clotet's side looking to progress to the next round against Cheltenham. Gary Johnson's men can probably be considered a little unlucky to lose 2-1 to Morecambe in the last minute but they have a paper-thin squad and it will be stretched this season unless they strengthen further. Oxford won 2-0 at Oldham which isn't an easy place to go and they look a classy outfit. The men in yellow can get the job done at a short price as Cheltenham have never won an away game in 90 minutes in this competition.
