Football Accumulator Tips

It's always difficult with the first day of the new season and the key if often working out which teams are ready for the new campaign! Please adjust your stakes accordingly.

Peterborough v Plymouth – Plymouth or Draw Double Chance

We start with a short-priced tip to get the accumulator started. Plymouth were masters of travel under Derek Adams last season and they haven't lost many players this summer. Adams remains in charge and they have secured the services of the majestic Graham Carey. The Pilgrims were the first side to win at the Keepmoat last season and there's no reason why they can't pick up something at London Road. Peterborough had an underwhelming campaign last year under Grant McCann but he remains in charge and their summer recruitment has been average so far. Ricky Miller misses the first six games through suspension and the loss of Michael Bostwick is a blow. The visitors can take something back to Devon here.

Portsmouth v Rochdale – Portsmouth Over 1.5 Team Goals

A long trip south for Keith Hill's men to start the season. Fratton Park should be jubilant with the takeover pretty much complete and Kenny Jackett's first game in charge. The former Millwall man is a winner at this level and should guide Pompey towards a top six finish this season. He usually deploys a 4-4-2 system and the combination of Connor Chaplin and Brett Pitman should grab goals this season. They offer width with Kal Naismith and Kyle Bennett and Carl Baker offers experience in the centre of the park. Rochdale will be tough to break down but Hill's side are always weaker away from Spotland and don't be surprised to see them concede a couple on the South Coast.

Charlton v Bristol Rovers – Charlton Over 1.5 Team Goals

Our third accumulator tip is the same bet as above. The Valley has been far from a happy valley in the last few seasons but influential midfielder Ricky Holmes remarked this week that the atmosphere has significantly improved in the last few months and Karl Robinson's men could be outsiders for a play-off place. Bristol Rovers didn't enjoy playing the Addicks last season losing 4-1 and 5-1 and they aren't always good on their travels. The hosts improved towards the end of last season and are likely to be a threat here. They can grab a couple of goals against the travel-sick Gas.

Bury v Walsall – Bury Win

Our penultimate accumulator tip comes from Gigg Lane with Bury expected to triumph over a poor Walsall side. The Saddlers were strong at home but tended to struggle away and they don't look to have much in attack. Manager Jon Whitney has been under pressure for quite some time and his side could come unstuck in the North West. Everything will need to go through the Turkish talent Ehrun Oztumer but he can't carry the side alone. Bury have added Jermaine Beckford and Nicky Ajose to their attack and there is added flair with the addition of Chris Maguire. Tom Aldred was one of the best defenders in League Two last season and he should have no problem keeping out 7 goal Simeon Jackson.

Luton v Yeovil – Luton Win

A straightforward victory for one of the League Two favourites. Nathan Jones' men narrowly missed out on promotion last season and have recruited well this summer. 20 goal James Collins comes in to support Danny Hylton whilst the experience of Andrew Shinnie and Alan McCormack will be pivotal. James Justin has also signed a new contract at the club and there should be a feel-good atmopshere around Kennilworth Road. Yeovil have a very small squad with only around 19 senior players at the last count. The Glovers are tipped to struggle under Darren Way and look significantly weaker this time around. This is a tough opening fixture for them and they'll be glad to get back to Huish Park.
