Jota – Brentford (v Sheffield United)

Somewhat confusingly there are now two Jota's plying their trade in the Championship with the Brentford man linked with a move away this summer. It looks like he will be staying in West London for now and should have another terrific campaign. Lasse Vibe could miss this game through injury so all eyes will be on the Spaniard to perform on the opening weekend. Jota only joined in January and netted 12 times for the club with a mixture of goals home and away and he could blunt the blades here. The Bees will be an attacking force this season and Dean Smith's side will be the entertainers of the league, Jota should play a huge part in that.

Brett Pitman – Portsmouth (v Rochdale)

Pittman was one of the eye-catching signings this summer and he should be able to help fire Pompey up the league this year. Kenny Jackett has success at this level and his sides always score goals in League One. Pittman played a bit-part at Ipswich last season and has been looking sharp in pre-season and he is also likely to be on penalty duty. Rochdale will be fighting here for every ball but they aren't as effective on the road and they could struggle to contain the new striker who should open his Pompey account here at Fratton Park.

Ricky Holmes – Charlton (v Bristol Rovers)

Our final anytime goalscorer betting tip comes from the Valley. Ricky Holmes is a nice big price but he is one of the most talented players in the league and should have a terrific season under Karl Robinson. Bristol Rovers should be looking for a play-off place this year but their away form was always a concern last season and they could come unstuck here in the capital. Holmes made a slow start to last season but netted 13 times in the end and netted in four of the last five matches in League One. He could be very dangerous here.
